MyMedicare is a new voluntary patient registration model formulated by the Australian Government with the aim of formalising the relationship between patients and their general practice, general practitioner, and primary care teams.
When you register in MyMedicare, it will notify your general practice that you have chosen them as your regular care team. This entails greater continuity of care with your registered practice, thus, improving health outcomes.
There are a number of ways you can register:
1. Via your Medicare Online Account or Express Plus Medicare Mobile app
2. General practice initiated with patient consent
3. Filling out a registration form at your practice
